Sign the petition to JBS

JBS – the world’s largest meat processing company, refuses to act on deforestation in its Brazilian supply chain. We sent JBS 68 cases of deforestation covering over 125,000 hectares, but JBS said they wouldn’t act! Sign the petition to urge JBS to:

  • Provide specific feedback on each of the 68 cases of deforestation identified by Mighty Earth and all future cases filed by stakeholders though a public grievance mechanism;
  • Outline plans to investigate, publish the results of the investigation, and the remediation actions taken;
  • Ban or block all suppliers that are directly and indirectly linked to deforestation;
  • Act rapidly in response to deforestation and conversion alerts, including via DETER (the Real-Time System for Detection of Deforestation) satellite image-based alerts to stop any deforestation and ecosystem conversion at the 10-hectare level, before it gets to the 1,000 ha or 10,000 ha level;
  • Update JBS´ policy so that it fully protects forests, people and wildlife impacted by its direct and indirect meat supply chains in all biomes by January 2025, starting now for the Amazon.
